Since ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence, it is responsible for organizing and collecting data in accordance with the request (Prompts) that you enter. The efficiency of the answer from ChatGPT will depend on the quality of the questions you put in. Therefore, for the effectiveness of German learning, Language Made Possible has collected sample questions and commands (also known as Prompts) for you to try out. Note that they are not limited to just these prompts. In fact, you can just ask any questions you have about the German language as you would do with your private German teacher with the ChatGPT.
"I want to practice remembering the genders of German words."
Let ChatGPT generates some activities for you to complete. For example, the prefix filling exercise 'der, die, das'. Ask ChatGPT to give you homework to practice your German language learning, by customising it to your weak areas. Some examples that we have gathered include: German sentence translating exercises, the Nomativ-Accusativ-Dativ- Genetiv case identifying exercise and sentence completing exercising using A1/A2/B1 nouns multiple choices. Simply recognise what area is your weakness in German language learning and what topic do you want to practice doing some exercises specifically, then just type in those topics as prompts and ask ChatGPT to generate exercise on that topic for you.
"Please check my answers [type the answer to the exercise]"
Let ChatGPT checks your exercise answers and give you a score. What’s more is that you can tell ChatGPT to identify your wrong answers and have ChatGPT explains the correct answer for you, allowing you to learn better from mistakes.
"Please help identify the function of the words in these sentences [attach a picture file with German language]"
You can also use ChatGPT to help identify and analyse the functions of the German words within a sentence to understand their roles and structures better. You can also attach images or screenshots of German articles or texts by clicking on the 'plus sign' in the text box and then select 'upload from computer', and let ChatGPT automatically processes the words according to your specified command. You can use this technique to check your writing skills with ChatGPT too.
